Czech Fest draws crowds under sunny skies in Crosby

CROSBY– Sacred Heart School supporters in the thousands turned out for the Czech Fest at the Crosby Fairgrounds on Sunday, Oct. 5th, for the annual event that celebrates the heritage of many residents of the area, at the same time that it raises money to support the worthwhile school activities.
This is the 63rd annual festival, and will include family and adult fun. Several thousand people usually turn out for this Fest, according to John Swinney of the church.
Monies are used to support the school and youth activities of the church through the year. Over $50,000 is the goal for the event.
The fund-raiser will include live and silent auctions, which usually feature hand made quilts. Also central to the day is a raffle for a new Ford Pick-Up truck, and vacation packages, diamond earrings, and more.
Fun, food, dancing, and games will go on all day long. The event funs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Featured entertainment will include the Texas Sound Czech Bank, th Czech Heritage singers, and the Marilyn Sikora Dancers. Call 281-328-4871 for additional information.
