Area Independence Day celebrations planned

CROSBY – The Crosby-Huffman Chamber of Commerce will host a Fourth of July Parade, along FM 2100. The parade will begin at the Crosby Fairgrounds and head north along FM 2100. Lineup will begin at 9 a.m. with the parade starting at 10 a.m.

The parade will feature cars, floats, music and candy. Congressman Ted Poe is also expected to attend.

BAYTOWN – The Baytown Parks and Recreation Department will hold a festival with live music at Bicentennial Park.

The festival will be from 2 to 10 p.m.

Live entertainment will be: 2:15-2:30 p.m. 6th Calvary Historic Society Civil War reenactment; 2:30-4 p.m. Granger Smith; 4:15-5:15 Lee College Concert Band; 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Bayou Band Big Band; 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. The Coastliners; 8-9:30 p.m. Blake Sheldon at and 9:30 p.m. will be a fireworks display.
