Crosby students disciplined over bus vandalism

CROSBY – Expulsion hearings for all five Crosby ISD High School students involved in the April 1, 2012 school bus damage incident have been completed and appropriate discipline as provided by the Crosby ISD student code of conduct has been implemented by the school district.

Four of the students involved have agreed to restitution, and accepted their expulsion assignments off the high school campus for the remainder of the school year. If these students complete their required course work and all aspects of their disciplinary assignment, they will be eligible to participate in the senior graduation ceremony on May 31, 2012. One student and his family have elected to appeal the discipline decision to the Crosby ISD Board of Trustees which is their right to do under the student code of conduct.

As stated by Superintendent, Dr. Keith Moore:

“This entire episode has been very difficult on our school district, our staff, our student body, and the students and families involved. I am very proud of how our team worked through the situation, and very thankful to everyone that assisted. I am also hopeful that all the students involved have learned a valuable lesson that will benefit them in the future.”
