We broke away from daily cares
to somewhere by the sea
where we spent two long, peaceful days
feeling footloose and free.
Wide waves sparkled like cut diamonds
brilliant in sunlight.
We walked in the flower gardens,
delighting or eyesight.
Back through time, we leisurely strolled
through trains, mansions, quaint shops.
We took great pleasure in dining,
pulling out all the stops.
My ‘break away’ became a release
from upset applecarts.
Thank you, Lord, for the new views;
I now have a fresh start.
