Hargrave OAP wins during first appearance at State UIL Meet

HUFFMAN – The Hargrave High School’s One Act Play, which made their first trip to the 3A State UIL walked away with awards in the areas of acting and technical services.

Curtis Allmon won a silver medal and was named a member of the All Star Cast. Bronze Medal winner Cody Tinnin was named Honorable Mention All Star Cast.

Jordan Smith was named Outstanding Technician among all the 3A schools competing at the meet.

This year’s one act play selection was “The Runner Stumbles” by Milan Stitt, a murder mystery about a priest who is accused of murdering a nun he has fallen in love with.

Aline Knighton, director of theatre and choir at Hargrave, said that work on their contest entry began in January. The state meet was the fifth level of competition for the students, which afforded awards for Hargrave along the way.

“In all my actors and technicians were honored with 29 medals during the course of the competition season,” she said.
