CROSBY – Locals again remembered those that served their country on Saturday before the Monday that was Veteran’s Day with a parade down Main Street. The weather was perfect.

An honor guard of Crosby High School JROTC followed the first responders of Crosby Volunteer Fire Department, HCESD#5 the ambulance service for Crosby and Precinct 3 Constables Deputies.

Veterans Day recalls the eleventh month of 1918, the eleventh day, the eleventh hour that the armistice was agreed that ended World War I. Following September 11, 2001 first responders are also honored remembering their life saving efforts and bravery.

Eastside Veterans Celebration, Crosby American Legion Post 658 and other entities assembled the parade. Attendance was lighter than usual this year.

Veterans with American Legion Post 658 were in great spirit before the parade as seen here. Following the parade they hosted a lunch for the veterans at the David H. McNerney American Legion Hall with brisket.
