Sacred Heart fills their purse, at bingo

CROSBY – Winter Wonderland Designer Purse Bingo was hosted on January 21st, 2022 to raise money for Sacred Heart Catholic School of Crosby.

The proceeds that were raised went directly to replace a broken air conditioning unit in the Early Childhood Building at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which holds the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, and where Sacred Heart Catholic Church holds their CCE classes on Sunday mornings.

The event was a huge success with proceeds of $18,100!! That allowed the school to not only replace the broken compressor, but to replace the entire A/C unit!

Burned bodies found in vehicle under FM 1409 bridge

DAYTON — Authorities are investigating a gruesome scene in Liberty County, where a burning vehicle was discovered with two bodies inside.

The vehicle fire was reported to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle was underneath the FM 1409 bridge, just south of Dayton Advertisement.

The roadway was temporarily closed to traffic while TxDOT officials checked the structural integrity of the bridge.
