Bay Area Battles Cancer

Enthusiastic youngsters lead survivors on the first lap of this year’s Relay for Life. To date, the relay has raised over $801,000 this year alone. Organizers set a goal of $800,000. The Bay Area is seeking to become the top fundraising event for a record eight consecutive years. According top event organizers last year the Bay Area Relay for Life was also the number one fundraiser in a five-state area and was ranked 19th nationally. Over 3,700 people participated in the event held last Friday and Saturday at Stallworth Stadium, the all night walkathon-party also featured volleyball and dodge games, live music and several food booths.
