In two separate incidents last weekend, swimmers drowned in the San Jacinto River, near Magnolia Gardens Park. On Saturday, a 13-year-old boy swimming with his family disappeared under water and didn’t resurface. His body was recovered on the river bank early Sunday morning.
In the other drowning, on Sunday a man in his 30s swam out into the river, but midway he turned to come back, and went underwater and didn’t resurface. Dive teams recovered his body around 7 pm.
