Following their successful awards banquet in February at Stoneridge in Newport, the Crosby-Huffman Chamber of Commerce hasn’t slowed down. This month they hosted their annual Expo with hosts Crawfish Shack on FM 2100. While the weather was wicked and wild with wind and rain, it didn’t dampen the spirits of the members.
“It was a good opportunity to announce new Chamber members and despite the weather, we still had a good turnout,” said Tom Richard, president and CEO of the chamber.
The Expo is an opportunity for chamber members to promote their business among chamber members and the public.
Richard said it was also a good segue to launch into the coming golf tournament, but Richard had another exciting announcement.
“We have a lot of things kind of bubbling beneath the surface that’s getting ready to come up and one of those is our announcement of a new website,” he said.
The website, he promised, would be user member friendly and a major platform for the chamber and their members.
“It will be a member centered website that will have sections where members will be able to post their own events and job openings,” he said.
The 32nd Annual Tees-N-Tails Crosby-Huffman Chamber Golf Tournament will be hosted on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Stonebridge at Newport Golf Club in Crosby. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast at 9 a.m. and shotgun start at 10 a.m.
“We’re getting a lot of traction for the tournament and our sponsorships are selling out fast,” Richard said.
Early Bird registration by April 5 is $100 per player and from April 6-17 is $125. The registration includes green fees, range balls, cart, breakfast, lunch, drinks, giveaways, goodie bags, and awards for winning teams.
