CROSBY – According to a letter from the Crosby Fair & Rodeo Board the entertainment and rodeo has been cancelled for this year but the livestock auction is still to be held.

According to Gene Hicks a board member, the Cook-Off is still to be held and the performing act “Bag Of Donuts” from New Orleans is still to play for one of the two nights. Of course, this too is subject to change based on developments of the COVID 19 struggle and governmental regulation.

A letter dated April 21…

To our community: These past few months have been a very disappointing time, to say the least. We are deeply saddened that it has affected Crosby Fair & Rodeo, as well. With the continuous spread of COVID-19, the board has decided to suspend the rodeo and entertainment for the June 2020 show. The LIVESTOCK SHOW IS STILL ON AS SCHEDULED. This was a very hard decision and please know that we are as just as disappointed as you. The board is working every day to ensure that the exhibitors get rewarded for all the time & effort put forth on their projects. We know that this has been tough on everyone, but we will get through this and look forward to getting back to normal at some point. We will keep everyone updated on any future announcements.

Sincerely, Crosby Fair & Rodeo Board of Directors

Currently, the Cook-Off is scheduled for June 5 and 6 with a pack up day of Sunday, June 7. Then Wednesday, June 10, the Livestock auction is to be held. Generally, this is a massive gathering of most of Crosby with bidders and family all present. Directors plan for moving the livestock auction to the Rock N C Arena, a more spacious and temperature controllable setting.

Some light in the tunnel for the future.
